A Chelan to remember

June 14, 2017

We are less than two weeks away from converging on the beautiful town of Chelan for WSHA and AWPHD’s 41st Annual Rural Hospital Leadership Conference. Planning started before 2017 even started, and this is an outstanding event for:

  • Connecting hospitals, lawmakers and agency staff to improve health care in our state. This is a central value for WSHA, and both Dr. John Wiesman, who leads the Department of Health, and Dr. Dan Lessler, the chief medical officer for the Health Care Authority, will be doing Q&A sessions at Chelan.
  • Getting practical on health care transformation. We’ve been mapping change in health care for the last several years, and this year’s breakouts get practical about dental care, opioid addiction and behavioral health in rural settings.
  • Local impacts of national health reform. The timing is perfect to talk about federal action on health care reform, and how that change might impact our communities. Pam MacEwan, CEO of the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, will be there to talk about how national events are affecting insurance options for Washington residents.

We designed this conference with rural hospital CEOs and board members in mind, focusing on the issues you want to learn about in the formats that mean the most: lots of time for Q&As with speakers and easy access to staff and other experts on-site. We are really looking forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,
