Discuss leading diversity and inclusion initiatives at the Spring Forward eSeries

May 27, 2021

WSHA members are invited to attend the next virtual keynote in WSHA’s Spring Forward eSeries on June 3. The series aims to continue to inspire and provide access to top-notch experts while the pandemic keeps us apart. The June event features Zoom executive Kim Blue on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion.

With keen insights and a strategic perspective, Kim Blue helps people align their passions, talents and values for success. Over the course of a career spanning leadership positions from ESPN to Microsoft and Zoom, Kim Blue has earned a reputation as a trusted adviser who is able to motivate leaders to embrace growth, change, diversity and inclusion to improve themselves and their organizations. With keen insights and a strategic perspective, Blue will share data on diversity and inclusion, raising awareness of variations in care and employment based on biases, including race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and economic means. She will share strategies for identifying biases and overcoming barriers to meet each’s patient’s unique care needs.

Learning objectives for this event include:

  • Examine intentional inclusion and strategies for change in mental, engagement and operating models to provide excellent care for all patients regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or economic means.
  • Understand why mindset matters in uncovering biases to achieve better care.
  • Outline approaches to be more aware of diversity as you recruit and mentor health care providers and leaders.
  • Understand how bringing your full authentic self to work every day can ensure consistent treatment of patients and staff regardless of perceived or hidden biases.

WSHA is offering organizational registration for unlimited access to the entire series for your hospital’s staff and board members for $749. Alternatively, individual series registration is $249. To increase accessibility, recordings will be available for one month after the live session. Please send any questions to ashleyt@wsha.org.
