WSHA Awards

Each year the Washington State Hospital Association recognizes the excellent work of individuals and organizations who make health care better for the residents of our state. Below is a brief description of the awards presented during the association's annual meeting. This year, the annual meeting is scheduled for October 13-14, 2010. More detailed information on each award is available by clicking on the title.

Community Health Leadership Award

The Community Health Leadership Award is given annually to the healthcare organizations that best serve their community's broader health needs. We encourage healthcare organizations to nominate themselves or others for the 2010 Community Health Leadership Award (CHLA).

24th Annual Joe Hopkins Memorial Award                             

The Joe Hopkins Memorial Award was created in 1987 to acknowledge an individual who displays the spirit of Joe Hopkins' vision and dedication to Washington's hospitals, with a special focus on his interest in rural health. Nominations due Friday, September 3, 2010

Best Hands on Care Award

The 2010 challenge begins in June and runs through August. The award, presented at the WSHA annual meeting in October, will be given to hospitals that average 100% compliance for the months of June, July, and August in either ICU or non-ICU and pass validation by secret shopper visit(s).
