Curry to lead public information for health care and hospitals
Following a nationwide search, the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) is proud to announce Rhonda Curry will be joining the leadership team as Vice President for Membership and Communications.
Curry has more than two decades of experience as a public affairs executive. Partnering with leadership, media, government and community, she has led health care communications and advocacy for hospitals and health systems including Olympic Medical Center, PeaceHealth and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Curry holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and a master’s degree in communication from Gonzaga University.
“Rhonda brings a deep knowledge of public policy and how it affects our membership, as well as a wealth of experience in communications,” said Cassie Sauer, WSHA president and CEO. “We’re so excited to have her insight as we seek to increase the public’s understanding of the massive changes in health care.”
In her new role, Curry is responsible for developing and implementing the association’s communication strategy; working with hospitals, providers, patients and members of the media; planning and leading high-value member educational events; and knowing and engaging WSHA members and external stakeholders.
“I’m dedicated to be serving organizations at the forefront of innovation to improve human health,” Curry said. “Washington’s hospitals and health systems are a national model striving to ensure all residents have access to health care, and it’s invigorating to be a part of WSHA at this important time for health care in our state and nation.”
