WSHA and Department of Health seek feedback on behavioral health agency licensing rules

February 25, 2021

Following rulemaking workshops last summer and fall, the Department of Health (DOH) is now seeking feedback on the official draft language for WAC 246-341, the chapter governing Behavioral Health Agencies. This is the chapter governing hospitals and other facilities’ licenses and certifications for provision of mental health and substance use-related services.

WSHA and a group of hospital experts participated in the rulemaking workshops last year, and we are very pleased to see the majority of our language changes incorporated in the official draft. Still, there are a few important areas where we hope to see additional changes and we want your feedback on: The sections impacting your specific behavioral health program certifications. Please contact Jaclyn Greenberg for details about providing feedback to WSHA about the rule’s impact on your hospital. DOH is accepting written feedback now – submit comments online here. The public hearing is set for Tuesday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m. Register online here.
