Busy times for Ocean Beach Hospital
Since taking over in January, Ocean Beach Hospital interim CEO Larry Cohen — along with a governing board that includes two new members — has pursued a number of ambitious projects, including a potential new clinic and an effort to boost employee morale.

Improvements made in sexual assault treatment at the UW
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program expanded to UW Medical Center March 10. The program started in 2000 at Harborview Medical Center.

Many moving parts at hospital building site
It’s a beehive of activity at the Jefferson Healthcare site, with 60 people working in various trades. The project will improve navigation and make for an improved entrance.

Sea turtle gets hyperbaric treatment at Virginia Mason
Virginia Mason Hospital welcomed Tucker the sea turtle to its hyperbaric chamber to help him prepare for release into the wild. It was the first time in history that a human has accompanied and monitored a sea turtle during hyperbaric treatment.

Skyline Hospital expanding transitional care program
In support of an overall plan to meet the needs of the community today and in the future, Skyline Hospital recently expanded its Transitional Care Program. Skyline has partnered with Allevant Solutions, a joint venture of Mayo Clinic and Select Medical.

Western State to expand
The updated state capital budget approved this week by the Senate and House of Representatives includes funding to open an additional ward at Lakewood’s Western State Hospital.
