Medicare Administrative Contractors Begin Audits of S-10 Forms

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is requiring the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for each region to audit the S-10 forms that are submitted by hospitals as part of their Medicare cost report.  CMS is transitioning to use of the S-10 form for DSH calculation purposes and is requiring the MACs to audit a set of hospitals to evaluate accuracy of the forms submitted.  Noridian confirmed it will be sending audit notices to 50 hospitals within the 10-state Jurisdiction F region but was unable to indicate which Washington hospitals, if any, were selected by CMS for the audit.  If you receive a notice or need additional information, please contact Andrew Busz at andrewb@wsha.org.
