HCA Releases Integrated Managed Care RFP for Mid-Adopter Regions

The Health Care Authority released its Request for Proposal for Fully Integrated Managed Care. Under the RFP, managed care organizations will be responsible for the continuum of physical and behavioral health care services for Medicaid enrollees, including those with substance use disorders and serious mental illness.  Two regions, Southwest Washington and North Central, have already implemented integrated managed care, with the remainder required by 2020. The effective date of implementation will depend on the regional service area. January 2019 Full Integration:

  • Spokane RSA (includes Adams, Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Spokane and Stevens counties)
  • Pierce RSA
  • Greater Columbia RSA (includes Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Kittitas, Walla Walla, Whitman, and Yakima counties)
  • Southwest RSA (adds Klickitat County)
  • North Central RSA (adds Okanogan County)

January 2019 Full Integration with Transition Year:

  • King County RSA
  • North Sound RSA (includes Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties)

January 2020 Full Integration:

  • Salish RSA (includes Clallam, Jefferson, and Kitsap counties)
  • Great Rivers RSA (Includes Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Pacific and Wahkiakum counties)
  • Thurston-Mason RSA, including Mason and Thurston counties
