On April 18, 2022, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued its proposed FY 2023 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) rule. CMS will accept comments on the proposed rule through Friday, June 17, 2022. A summary of the rule and hospital-specific impact analyses were sent to the chief financial officer or designated finance person for each member PPS Hospital in May.
The drafted comments prepared by WSHA can be reviewed here. A copy of the draft letter was provided to hospital chief financial officers, government affairs staff and rural hospital administrators on Tuesday. WSHA will submit its final comments Friday. We encourage member hospitals that are interested in doing so to submit their own comments using WSHA’s draft comments as a guide. The draft comment letter has sections where hospitals can provide additional information regarding the specific impact on their facility.
