From Stigma to Hope

From Stigma to Hope logoAccording to a recent survey from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, about 20 percent of people ages18 and older reported having a diagnosable mental illness in the previous year.

The Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) is joining KING 5 television and hospitals/health systems across the region in a campaign called "From Stigma to Hope." The goal of the campaign is to help people better understand mental illness, to realize there is hope for recovery and mental "wellness," and to reduce the stigma of mental illness.

Each month a different health care organization shares a story of hope in a series of public service announcements an an interview on the show New Day Northwest.
